I have been an active SCA member since October 2022 and a board member since May 2025. My great-grandparents, on my father John Anselmo's side, are Mary (Maria) Distefano Anselmo Sicuso, from Campobello di Mazara, Italy, and Yano Sicuso, from Terrasini, Italy. Through my involvement with the club, I have made many new friendships and learned more about my Sicilian heritage. I have co-chaired the annual Christmas party and served on planning committees for La Festa di San Giuseppe and our annual member picnic. As a group, we preserve and strengthen traditions to pass along to future generations. We welcome new members and find ways to continue to give back to the community.
