Tanina (DiPiazza) Santangelo
President

My name is Tanina Santangelo and I have been a member of the Sicilian Cultural Association for over 25 years. I served as a board member and in July 2018 was appointed to the role of Treasurer. I was then elected in 2019 and served as Treasurer until May of 2024. I have served as President 2 years. My husband, Mike Santangelo, was one of the founders of the Sicilian Cultural Association in 1992. In fact, Mike served five terms as president.
My parents were born in San Giuseppe, Jato, Palermo, Sicily. My mom, Lillian DiPiazza, immigrated to the United States in 1949; and my dad, Vincenzo DiPiazza, immigrated to the Unites States in 1959. They both have been long-time members of the Sicilian Cultural Association and it holds a special place in their heart. They encouraged Mike and I to become more active. We continue to work at keeping the traditions and our heritage alive in the community by staying involved in the club’s annual events, especially the Festa di San Giuseppe, which I have had the honor of chairing several times over the years.
I worked in the accounting field for over 40 years and retired in December 2022 from Anders CPAs + Advisors. During my tenure with Anders, I was active in the Professional Women’s Alliance and served two years as treasurer. I currently work part-time at Sacred Heart Villa as their accountant.
